But beyond the treatments, there are also a range of different things you can do to make sure your skin is already in a good place before coming for that extra pampering with us. Want youthful, full-of-life skin? Here’s your foundation:
Probably the biggest point to make in this article is about the importance of water. Staying hydrated is absolutely essential to releasing toxins from your body and hydrating your skin (everywhere – not just your face!). Not only will good hydration keep your skin naturally-moisturised, but it’ll also help reduce any pesky breakouts and dark eye circles. The best way to drink water is in lots of small quantities, this way it will be absorbed by your body more effectively and won’t send you dashing to the toilet too frequently!
You are what you eat, so don’t be quick, easy or cheap! You only get one body, and keeping it healthy will not only help your overall health, but will most definitely show in your skin. Plenty of vitamins, minerals and other goodies are packed into a good, balanced diet – so ditch the processed foods and pick up something that your body will really thank you for.
Available in loads of foods including nuts, spinach, blueberries and even dark chocolate (yay!), antioxidants help your body actively reduce damage and inflammation (which leads to wrinkles). Eating antioxidant-packed foods is a great way to do your skin a big favour.
It can seem on the contrary at times, but England does have sun/UV rays! Using SPF-protection moisturisers and make up will help to prevent damage that naturally occurs over time from sun exposure. Remember, just because the sunnies aren’t out, doesn’t mean the UV rays aren’t!
Beyond what you put on your skin and into your body, your lifestyle can have dramatic effects on your skin’s quality. Getting enough sleep is crucial for your body’s restoring and repairing. If you’re struggling with sleep due to stress – this is what needs addressing. Stress has all number of dangers to your body, and the sooner you learn to control it, the better you will feel inside and out.
